Theater Classes
Grand Blanc Youth Arts is partnering up with local theater teachers to offer music theater classes for children in the community. Children will develop acting, drama, and singing skills through various music theater numbers that will be showcased in a public performance for friends, family, and community members.
Drumline
The GBYA drumline is a percussion ensemble that features the standard drumline instruments that you see in most high school marching bands but is open to elementary and middle school students. Children will learn to read and perform basic rhythms and drum rudiments on their specific drums. They will collaborate with the entire ensemble to play fun drumline arrangements that they will share with the community through public performances.

Marimba Band
The GBYA Marimba Bands are unique and engaging percussion ensembles that allows children to play Zimbabwean-influced marimbas. These marimbas are hand crafted by our own executive director, Steve Simmons, and are of various sizes including soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass. Students will learn specific parts of a song on their marimba, and then collaborate with the rest of the ensemble to play fun and engaging songs that they will share with the community through public performances.
Grand Blanc Youth Choir
The Grand Blanc Youth choir is a fun and engaging vocal ensemble that nurtures a child’s passion for singing while developing important vocal skills such as breathing, diction, posture, and tonal placement. Using these skills, students will learn how to blend their voice within a full choir and perform fun and engaging music that they share with the community.

Art Classes
Grand Blanc Youth Arts is partnering with local visual art teachers to offer after-school art classes for students at various schools in the Grand Blanc community. Children will develop their artistic expression by learning about art techniques in various mediums through FUN and engaging art projects.
Violin Classes
Grand Blanc Youth Arts is partnering up with local orchestra and strings teachers to offer after-school violin classes for students at various elementary schools in the Grand Blanc community. Children will learn the basics of playing violin such as correct posture, holding the instrument, finger placement, plucking, and bowing. Students will use these skills learned to play fun and simple songs on the violin.
